Memorial services for Gerald W. Coulthart, were held
Tuesday, August 28, 2001, at the Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains, NJ.
Gerald, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away Thursday,
August 23, at Morristown Memorial Hospital. Jerry is survived by his wife,
Elaine Nussbaum, their son David, four children and six grandchildren:
Geraldine Page (Stockholm, NJ), John Coulthart (Rock Hill, NY), Kenneth
Coulthart (Clifton, NJ), Lora Tillson (Sackets Harbor, NY); Susan and
Andrew Page; Michael and Rebecca Tillson; Jason and Timothy Coulthart. A
brother, Donald Coulthart, resides in North Port and Jupiter, FL.
Jerry was born January 29, 1922, in Watertown, NY, of Harold Coulthart and
Lora Waterman Coulthart. He graduated from Greenwich High School,
Greenwich, CT. Jerry served in the US Army during WWII at the Medical
Company Station Hospital, Camp Patrick Henry, Virginia. He retired in 1987
as Director of Employee Benefits after forty-four years of service at
American Cyanamid, Wayne, NJ. He was a member of numerous industry
associations on employee benefits, including the Council of Employee
Benefits. He had the privilege of participating in the creation of many of
the benefit plans provided by American Cyanamid, often working over many
years to obtain their adoption. He greatly enjoyed skiing and golfing --
he was a member of a ski house in Stowe, Vermont, for many years and his
retirement gift to himself was new golfing equipment. He served on the
condominium board at Heritage Manor, Wayne, NJ, where he lived from 1979
to 1997, and a Fox Hill condominium association in Stowe. In July, 1997,
Jerry, Elaine and David moved to Basking Ridge, NJ.
Jerry was diagnosed in 1997 with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.
The family requests remembrances support research, treatment or family
support related to these diseases.
